This application note presents a subroutine for producing tones (or musical notes) by specifying values for frequency and duration. The example program plays a brief tune through a speaker. The circuit uses two PICmicro® MCU outputs driven differentially to produce a 10-volt peak-to-peak signal from a single-ended power supply.
