DigiView Volatility Statement - Will DigiView retain captured data when the power is removed?

Submitted by: TechTools

No. The TechTools DigiView series logic analyzers are not capable of storing any captured data once power is removed. All data captures are stored in internal SRAM until transferred to the PC for analysis. Once power to the analyzer is removed, the SRAM contents will be lost.

The DV3400 model uses an external power supply. When that power supply is disconnected from the analyzer or the analyzer's power switch is set to the OFF position, all power is removed from the SRAM causing it to loose its contents.

The DV3100 and DV3200 models are powered from the USB cable. When the USB cable is disconnected from the analyzer, all power is removed from the SRAM causing it to loose its contents.
