DigiView Data Views
Data Views
Analysis of the captured data is a critical
component of any Logic Analyzer. To make the analysis easier, DigiView provides
three disitnct methods of organizing and displaying the rather large amount of
data it is capable of capturing.
- Waveform Views - Waveform views
display the data graphically in row form. All signals displayed in these views
are time correlated for relational comparison of data changes and transitions.
Any multi-channel signal can be "expanded" into additional rows with a single
click of the mouse, making individual channel data easy to view when needed.
Waveform views have extensive navigation features for fast comprehensive
analysis.
- Table Views - While most
manufacturers provide table views, they generally are not too useful for
anything other than STATE mode signals. Most logic analyzer demos will show
data changing on every sample, making the table view look interesting in timing
mode. However, in real usage, most signals do not change at anywhere near the
sample rate, causing the table to show a small sample of stable data. You might
have to scroll several screens before seeing the signal transition. We have
added several enhancements to the basic table view to make it truly beneficial
in real-world usage. DigiView's tables include Compression, Downsampling, Delta
timing and channel expansion options.
- List Views - List views present
the decoded data of higher level signal types in column form. The display
format of a List view will reflect the type of the signal assigned to it and
may be numerical, graphical or both. This decoded data can be exported directly
from within the List view if external analysis is needed.
